About Us

Showcase Solutions recognized many years ago the need to provide an affordable staging solution to Homeowners of occupied properties.

Many Real Estate Agents and Homeowners face a challenge in maximizing the value of occupied property listings and too much furniture can be frustrating and feel like a monumental task.

We’ve spent the last 20+ years helping realtors, just like you, stage owner occupied homes with a view to maximizing the property’s value and to achieving the Real Estate Agent and the Homeowner’s mutual goal of the quick sale.

We’ve created an owner occupied home staging design solution that edits the existing decor with a focus on highlighting architecturally details often in only one appointment! The result is listing pictures that shine leading to faster sales.

Meet the Team

  • Mitra Sahebi launched Showcase Solutions in 2005, following her move to Portland from the Bay Area. As she viewed many Properties in search of her Portland home, she noted the importance of presentation in attracting interested Buyers. Spotting an opportunity to exercise her passion for creativity, she earned the certificate of Accredited Staging Professional and founded the business.

Mitra also joined the Toastmasters Club at that time to hone her presentation skills and was an active member for 5 years.

While building her Home Staging business, Mitra simultaneously became involved with IRCO (Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization) as an interpreter, working with the Persian & Afghan communities to give them voice. She became involved with Catholic Charities in the same capacity, helping with cultural-orientation classes.

She believes this cross-cultural experience, together with lessons learned via Toastmasters, helps her connect with a wider audience in any arena!

As Staging became increasingly familiar to Home Owners & Realtors in the Portland area, so, too, did Mitra’s desire to expand beyond just “Vacant Staging.” Noting both the need for and absence of Staging alternatives for owner-occupied properties she focused her creativity on finding a solution and her “Hands-On Staging” service was born!

Mitra is appreciative of every opportunity to provide this service, as it involves sparking a sense of community with all different people with all different ways of life, and each visit proves immensely rewarding.

  • Kate Neish combines her marketing and advertising business degree with a passion for creativity. A love of art coupled with functionality has led her to create her own line of lip balm locket jewelry, children’s activity kits and encaustic art paintings. Kate is highly visual and compelled to make things look and work better than she found them.

Walking into an owner-occupied home that needs to be prepped for sale is her favorite right brain design puzzle challenge. Decluttering and designing spaces that highlight architectural details while optimizing lucrative listing photos drives her. Kate is often overheard saying that she can’t believe she gets paid for doing what she so deeply loves.

She is continuously advancing her interior design and business skills. She recently collaborated with a Brand Strategist to fine tune the business and is currently enrolled in a Home Staging certification course taught by Portland’s legendary Home Staging founder Carrie Miller, the go-to in the industry.

Kate holds nature, and the effect it has on us, as a North Star in her life. When not working she can be found trail running in Forest Park or the vast wilderness of Hood River. Snowboarding on Mount Hood and paddle boarding on the Columbia and Willamette River are some of her other favorite activities.

Anyone who knows Kate knows that whatever she does, she does it with extra gusto!

  • Lauren Anderson has a background in both finance and screenwriting. She has been a member of the Writer’s Guild of America for many years, writing for TV in Los Angeles, London, and Kuala Lumpur.

Her longtime friendship with Mitra brought her to Portland in 2007 and she became involved in helping grow the business during the down market of 2009-2010. In this, she was able to bring both her writing skills (marketing/website copy) and business background (AP/AR, warehouse and crew management, etc.) into service to help Showcase Solutions thrive.

She serves as Volunteer Site Coordinator (and Reader!) with SMART Reading (8 years and counting) at James John Elementary in N. Portland.

She also serves as Chair of her condo Association’s Board of Directors, helping Contractors coordinate a current, far-reaching renovation project.

Both these activities have given her the opportunity to share with others her lifelong appreciation of the value of teamwork.
